Construction is underway on a £10m care home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, to be operated by Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG).
Chartwell Manor, a two-storey 61-bedroom property, will provide person-centred nursing, residential and dementia care.
The setting, scheduled to be built by autumn, is set within gardens and will include private patio areas for ground floor rooms. Facilities comprise lounges and restaurants, including a bar and bistro, while an on-site concierge will be part of a package of 24-hour personalised care on offer.
MMCG last year committed to investing more than £80m to develop nine new homes, as part of an ongoing build programme over the next three years. The development of Chartwell Manor follows the launch earlier this year of £9.5m Lace Hill Manor care home in Buckingham.
‘Our homes are very much open to and engaged with the communities they serve, from partnerships with schools and charities, to contracts with local businesses, to being a major local employer, so we’re confident this new home will be a huge asset for the people of Aylesbury,’ said Paul Walsh, chief operating officer (South) at MMCG.
The home is set to create upwards of 70 jobs covering carers, qualified nurses, chefs and administrators, among others.
