Diaverum launches new holiday dialysis booking platform

Leading global renal care service provider, Diaverum, is making holiday dialysis simpler with the launch its new d.HOLIDAY booking platform. The booking platform was officially launched during the company’s d.HOLIDAY conference, held in Rome at the beginning of May.

d.HOLIDAY is Diaverum’s holiday dialysis programme. It gives patients access to high-quality renal care through its global network of clinics in 24 countries worldwide, allowing them easy access to dialysis care in another city or country and making it possible to visit family or go on holiday.

The booking engine enables holiday dialysis users to apply several filters to their search, select payment options in advance and have real-time visibility of treatment availability across the company’s network. In addition, the platform also offers information on holiday destinations, tips on how to plan the holiday around dialysis treatment needs and guidance regarding documentation and medication

“Chronic disease patients’ dreams of travel – whether a short trip, or an exotic, overseas adventure – come from a basic, human need to move freely. For them, this movement has to be plotted around the treatment that is critical to their survival,” said Michaela Blomstrand, director of patient experience and community affairs, and lead on the programme. “We are committed to ensuring our patients can enjoy this fundamental right with our dialysis holiday offerings.”

Diaverum has ambitious bookings growth targets from the introduction of the programme. The company expects the new platform to fuel bookings by making the process easier, simpler and quicker – for patients and anyone booking holiday dialysis on their behalf, as well as care teams at the home clinic and the holiday destination.

“Success will be measured in different ways: visits converted into bookings, booking confirmation response time and increased holiday dialysis bookings,” said Blomstrand. “But we should think of success more broadly – when it comes to d.HOLIDAY, success for Diaverum ultimately means enhancing the holiday dialysis booking experience and empowering more renal patients to live out their dreams of travel.”

The d.HOLIDAY booking engine represents the latest step in Diaverum’s focus on digitalisation.
