Topcon Corporation, a provider of medical devices and software solutions for the global eye care community, has acquired Visia Imaging, an ophthalmic device manufacturer headquartered in Florence, Italy.
The Japanese specialist developer of optical, sensing and control solutions says that the acquisition of Visia enhances its development and manufacturing capabilities of anterior segment devices and software and complements the company’s portfolio of posterior segment imaging devices.
Visia specialises in the design, development, and manufacturing of anterior segment hardware and software.
The acquisition of Visia enables Topcon to create synergies, expand its product offering, and strengthen the Topcon Healthcare brand. In addition, it will allow for additional product design and development capabilities and address the growing epidemic of myopia.
