Singapore-listed investment holding company New Silkroutes Group (NSG) has appointed VicPearly Wong as chief executive officer.
A specialist orthodontist by profession, Wong is the director and founder of Orange Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Wren Dental and Medical Supplies and Greedygums. These companies were acquired by NSG in 2017 and she was subsequently appointed as clinical director (dental) of NSG subsidiary, Healthsciences International.
“The convergence of a public health emergency and an economic downturn, calls for new directions and strategies. Taking over the reigns as CEO in a pandemic crisis presents both challenges and opportunities. In NSG, we must take this opportunity to sharpen our focus, redefine our strategic vision and adapt,” said Wong.
She added that her strategic vision in the next decade will NSG’s transformation to an innovative healthcare company. “We will be leveraging on deep learning platforms and advanced computing infrastructures to develop our artificial intelligence driven capabilities in healthcare,” she added.
Wong was the past president of the Association of Orthodontists, Singapore and currently serves as the chairman of the association’s internal audit committee. She is a member of the College of Dental Surgeons, orthodontics chapter and a medical expert at the Faculty of Medical Experts, Academy of Medicine Singapore.
